Dean Kirkwood
Dean originally joined John McAslan + Partners in 2002 during his studies at UCL, working on the concept design of King’s Cross Station. In 2010, he returned to JMP and was appointed Associate in May 2011 having led a number of projects for the practice's Education and Culture Unit since his return.
Dean is a qualified Architect with nearly ten years of experience and a strong portfolio of proposed and realised projects. He has led the concept, design development and construction of a number of UK and international projects in many fields - notably education, transport, residential and urban design - with a particular interest in large complex mixed-use schemes.
Currently, he is leading the £29m redevelopment of The John Roan School, a split-site 1,400-pupil secondary school located immediately adjacent to the World Heritage Site of Greenwich Park, a project which involves an extensive refurbishment of the Grade II listed original building, as well as providing a complementary new build school nearby. He is also engaged in formulating a new Estate Masterplan for St Paul’s Girls’ School, West London, one of the UK’s most highly respected senior independent schools.
