Tony Skipper is JMP’s Managing Director. He joined the practice in 2000, with a portfolio of successful work in major school, further education and university projects. Tony was appointed to lead JMP’s Manchester studio as an associate director, following the practice’s winning of the Manchester Metropolitan University Law Faculty commission, which was successfully completed in 2004. Tony became a JMP director in 2005, the year he was nominated as Prospect Northern Architect of the Year, and was appointed to the newly created MD’s role in 2009. He oversees operational and business development matters, as well as maintaining involvement in projects.
He has developed major newbuild, adaptive re-use, and masterplan schemes, including the University of Manchester’s Student Centre and Nursing Building, Universal House and Lancaster University. Tony has taught, or been a visiting critic at, schools of architecture at universities in Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool.
