
Tony Skipper joined John McAslan + Partners in 2000, after a period with Ellis Williams Architects, which had given him experience of significant school, further education and university projects. Skipper was appointed to lead JMP’s Manchester studio as an associate director, following the practice’s winning of the Manchester Metropolitan University Law Faculty commission, which was successfully completed in 2004. Skipper was appointed as a JMP director in 2005, the year he was nominated as Prospect Northern Architect of the Year. In recent project leading roles, he has developed major newbuild, adaptive re-use, or masterplan schemes, including the Moor mixed-use development in Sheffield, St George’s Island, University of Manchester Student Centre and Nursing Building, Universal House, Water Street, Hugh Mason House, Manchester and Lancaster University. Skipper has taught or been a visiting critic at schools of architecture at Manchester University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Leeds Metropolitan University and Liverpool University.
