John McAslan + Partners has always sought to add social and community value to its architectural schemes with by supporting, where appropriate, pro bono initiatives associated with them. The most obvious recent examples of this concern JMP’s sponsorship of community projects for young people in the King’s Cross area of London, as part of the practice’s long term role as lead architect for the station’s redevelopment. In another stream of pro bono work, the practice has contributed to, or been directly involved in, one-off projects - the most notable recent example being the Neno Schools Project in Malawi, Africa, which JMP are pursuing on behalf of the Clinton Hunter Development Initiative.
