Arts, civic and cultural projects involving the practice's Historic Buildings Unit include the international award-winning transformation of the Grade II* listed Roundhouse in Camden Town, which has become has made it a major performing venue, and trigger for further local urban regeneration. Other notable projects include the remodelling of London's Royal Academy of Music, and the restoration and modernisation of the Grade I listed Modernist masterpiece, the De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill, to create a vibrantly revived arts and leisure centre. In the heart of Moscow, the practice is remodelling and converting the historic seat of the Stanislavsky family for new uses.

Major projects, completed or under way, include the 25,000 sqm John Lewis Store at Liverpool's Paradise Street development, retail projects in Oxford Street and New Bond Street, London, and mixed-use and residential buildings in Moscow. Recently completed projects include the £100m remodelling of the Grade II* listed Peter Jones department store in Sloane Square, London.

In the residential sector, the practice has completed the first phase of a 400-unit riverside scheme in Castlefield, Manchester, and is designing two housing-led schemes in Mount Pleasant, London, and the Tradeston district of Glasgow.

Transport schemes include the masterplanning and design of the £275 development of the Grade I listed King's Cross station in London; the £350m transformation of New Street Station in Birmingham; and the £200m Crossrail station at Paddington. In Urban Design and Landscape projects, the practice is delivering the massive Oxford Road Corridor masterplan in Manchester, a new transport and public space scheme for London's Oxford Street, and public realm treatments for the University of Manchester.

In the field of education, the practice completed a new £10m Law Faculty building for Manchester Metropolitan University, a new and an extension to London University's School of Oriental and African Studies. The practice is developing several other higher education schemes, combining masterplanning and design, for City University, London, Kingston University, Manchester University, Southampton University and Harris Academy, Croydon.

Ongoing overseas projects include a new British Embassy in Algiers, major new buildings and redevelopments in Moscow and Ekaterinburg, stations for the New Delhi Metro, and a college in the Kenyan highlands.
