These proposals for the Chengdu Panchenggang Community Masterplan are founded on a series of integrated building layouts and landscaping schemes that specifically draw on historically and socially important aspects of Chinese life to create new community and educational activities. Changes of physical and social pace that will add something valuable to peoples' lives.
The arrangement of schemes for three separate communities introduces a diversity of urban scale and detail. The dynamics of the existing masterplan of the area have been transformed into three community development plots that would modulate the pace of life in the heart of the city. The plan uses asymmetrical layouts to maximise the energising relationships between different kinds of space and urban connections. This is inspired by the narrow and linear agricultural and industrial plots that once covered the landscape in and around Chengdu, and reinforces aspects of the overall masterplan of the area.
