The Centre for Performing Arts at De La Salle School, St Helens, is a timber-clad building providing flexible teaching and performance spaces and marks the school's Excellence in Music status. The building's form – three connected pavilions – is reminiscent of the historic glass furnaces that occupied the skyline of St Helens during the Industrial Revolution. The design also incorporates stack-effect passive ventilation, and other low energy systems.
