This masterplan for the redevelopment of Marble Arch, the iconic gateway into the West End of London, is designed to re-connect the Arch and Speaker's Corner, to the adjacent public realm.
The project, which is sponsored by TfL, is intended to redress the balance between pedestrians and surface-level transport. Marble Arch is a heavily used crossroads with a long social history as a gathering place for people - a role that has been significantly compromised over time. The pedestrian environment is to be significantly improved by making movement more generous at street level.
