Marble Arch

The practice was commissioned to prepare a masterplan for the redevelopment of Marble Arch - one of the principal gateways into the West End of London.

The project, is intended to redress the balance between pedestrians and surface-level transport. Marble Arch is a heavily used crossroads with a long social history as a gathering place for people - a role that has been significantly compromised over time.
 
The masterplan proposes significant improved to the pedestrian environment, by making movement more generous at street level and, importantly, by re-connecting the Arch and Speaker’s Corner to the adjacent public realm.
