The Royal Society of Arts (RSA) invited John McAslan to give the prestigious Bossom Lecture on Wednesday, 24 November 2010. The lecture, entitled Building Better Communities, discusses the changing approaches to architecture in relation to increasingly challenging social and community issues beyond the strict reach of clients' briefs. In arguing for a greater commitment to supporting non-profit design work alongside major professional design projects, John explains how even the smallest initiatives and intervention can contribute not only to improved lives, but demonstrate important cross-cultural connections.
John's lecture was chaired by Britain's pre-eminent socio-economic commentator Will Hutton.
